Rusty Pickle and Basic Grey Rub ons - Kathy Pitt

Filed under: Creations from TSE — Kathleen Pitt @ 8:41 am

Well this week was my turn to design some things using the GORGEOUS new Rusty Pickle Mayflower Pattern Papers - I must say it has been a long time since I have really ENJOYED using papers like I did these ones! The Basic Grey rub ons went along fantastic with these pattern papers!

I did the KaiserCraft LOVE mini album first, this was so much fun to create!

I also had some Basic Grey Periphery around, so I created a set of Fathers Day LOs with them, using some photos from our Fathers Day Photo shoot we did.

TSE Cybercrop is coming!

Filed under: General Chat — Kathleen Pitt @ 7:04 am

Here’s the itinerary:

Friday Night 28th September

7pm - join us here in the forum from 7pm onwards. We’ll open up a Welcome thread for you to sign in to so that we know who is in attendance and we’ll also open up a banter thread so that we can all chat.

Challenges

We have four scrap related challenges for you to work on over the weekend. The challenges are secret and will be revealed on Friday night between 7pm and 9pm. Three of the challenges are layout based and one is off the page.

You do not need to have purchased a kit from the store to participate, however, there are special sections for those who have purchased kits. BTW - i found i counted my kits on hand incorrectly, i still have one of each theme in stock. Ngaire is going to post some hints about the challenge shortly.

You will need to complete your challenge and upload your work to the gallery by no later than midnight on Sunday evening.

A gift voucher for $20 will be awarded for each of the four challenges.

Games

We’ve got some cool games planned for the Cybercrop - one game will be played each evening. The timetable is as follows:

Friday 9pm - Bingo hosted by Annette Lee. Annette will create a post shortly with the bingo words for you to choose from and explain some more details.

Saturday 7pm - Scavenger Hunt - join us hunting for everyday items around your home. Kathy Pitt has drawn up the rules and Lisa Hallett will host the hunt.

Sunday 7pm - Trivia - the TSE Mod Hi 5 Mod Squad represented by Sandy Myers are hosting Trivia, prepare your mind now.

The winners of each of the three games will receive a Basic Grey Chipboard Album of their choice.

Focus on flowers & buttons with Ngaire Gilligan

Filed under: Creations from TSE — Kathleen Pitt @ 3:32 pm

Flowers are such a popular embellishment, nearly every second layout you see utilises them in some way. Despite the myriad of colours and the huge range of sizes and shapes, they can sometimes be regarded as ‘boring’. I mean - you have a space, so you stick a flower in there. But there is so much more that you can do with flowers to make them more interesting - to jazz them up so to speak.

And then there is buttons (these make brilliant flower centres by the way); in the layout below I have cut up Queen & Co felt floral ribbon; added some cut-up brown hessian (from a fabric store); brads; different size mulberry flowers (Green Tara and Prima) and lengths of ribbon all layered together. The layers contrast in colour and texture to really tie the elements of the layout together. I have even added a small charm to the largest flower as a focal point.
